Season Kick Off Run - Sunday 28th June 2020 (UPDATED DATE)
Re: Season Kick Off Run - Sunday 28th June
<<UPDATE>>
Chance of rain first thing tomorrow is pretty much guaranteed.
The feeling here is to look at postponing this to next weekend, so let's call it now

I know I'm not doing the full route, but my preference would be the 28th looking at the forecast

Was so pumped up by the idea of the Kick-off run that cancellation forced me to improvise, and my son who was slated to join me hopped in for a spin to Lulworth Cove. As you can see the weather was pretty dreadful. . .
Re: Season Kick Off Run - Sunday 28th June (UPDATED DATE)
I must admit, I ended up doing up a run with another club on Sunday. I was too excited to just lay in bed and be spoilt rotten on Father's Day(?)
Not too bright at 6am, but it perked up...
Fingers crossed for this weekend!

Well I'm a bit more hopeful than I was last week.
We still on for this?
I do hope some of you are running Satnavs! I can't see the Atoms chugging along behind me for very long...
We still on for this?
- Convoy 1 leaving Cobham Services (West Bound) at 8am
- Main tour leaving Winchester Services (Southbound) at 9am
- Pit stop at Caen Hill Cafe at roughly 10:30am
- End at John O'Gaunt pub I guess around 12pm
I do hope some of you are running Satnavs! I can't see the Atoms chugging along behind me for very long...

Looks like we have a weather window. Let’s hope it holds!

That was fun! Thanks for the turnout chaps and chapettes.
Great to see everyone still smiling and keen to get out and about. Time to plan some more I reckon ;-)

Thanks for organising.
Great to see everyone and mostly a nice run out.
But can we have it a bit drier next time. On the way to Marlborough on some polished tarmac in the rain I had 3-4 sickening slides. Zero grip. Brown trousers. Not good. Dangerous stuff.
Car is also filthy, but hey its getting lighter by the day......

Some of us would like - quite a bit more - mud. . .
Great run and good to meet some new arielists. Now I know what an 'Atom' is. Quite the thing for roads.
And thanks for organising Karl V . Sterling work

I do envy those hydraulic handbrakes that the ‘mads have.
And was jolly glad I was on fresh rubber

Firstly, thank you Karl for organising the run. I think we just about got away with it. A little damp but we didn't drown!
One small advantage of the slightly inclement weather was that there were less cycles on the road than I have seen recently.
However, it was great to get out and about as a group again and nice to see some new (and old) faces again.
Where next?
Chris

Somebody else did all the hard work producing the Google maps route. This worked particularly well for me which is why I seemed to end up at the front. If we could work out how to superimpose our location onto the map so we could all see where we all were, I think we'd be onto a winner!
