Trailer servicing
Trailer servicing
Ive just aquired a Brian James second hand trailer for my Atom. Its only 3 years old, and everything seems to be working ok. I wanted to ask trailer owners if they service them with a dealer and how often? Its a bit bigger than other trailers ive owned, and i want to be sure it runs well with my precious Atom on it. Any recommended dealers in the south east? or is this an easy DIY job?
thanks
thanks
Re: Trailer servicing
Also have a large Brian James trailer, could do with a service. This trailer has had a Rolls Royce on it so should be good for my Atom.

With a larger size of trailer if it has dual axles I think that you could probably load your Atom facing forwards (as far as possible) with no problems.
I discovered that my dual axle PRG trailer is happy (up to about 80 or so - honest I was just testing it m'lud!) when my Atom is loaded facing forwards and the towing car's mpg should be markedly better not to mention it is considerably easier to load and unload!
PS I heard that you have been chatting with my mate Kevin!

Re: Trailer servicing
Indespension offer a trailer service, £45 iirc
Re: Trailer servicing
Found a trailer agent locally which will service it on Thursday. They recommend annual servicing for trailers, but i doubt thats really required.
Hi Paul, yes Ive been chatting g to Kevin about Atoms etc, on a BA facebook group

I have a single axle trailer, with just the right length so I can fit it in the garage. I load the back end first to get the nose weight right

I would recommend the 'vertical wrap' tyre straps (see the photo of my Atom loaded sporting blue straps)
- with this type of starp there is no chance of buggering up the geometry!
Met with Steve Rookes's approval
