Re: Border Blast - 2018
First details re hotels.
I have planned some routes from the south up to Northumberland (and will post these shortly on the forum), but i have found some hotels which are below. I figured the sooner we book the better.
Thursday 17 May (about 180 miles - for me)
I will be driving up from the deep south through Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and up into the Peak district (route to be posted shortly) I am assuming others (2 or 3?) in the south or midlands could join up at various points (to be agreed soon). So I am staying at this place on Thursday 17 May...
The Yorkshire Bridge Hotel

Friday 18 May (about 180 miles)
Awake early and continue through the Peak District and the Snake Pass, up and around Manchester, through Lancashire, skimming through the souther part of the Yorkshire Dales on some great roads, into the Lake District and up to Penrith along the lakes and valleys. Then across the North Pennines park to Hayden Bridge. We can base ourselves at the place below. I have booked 3 nights, checking in Friday 18May, checking out Monday 21 May. We can then meet the Northern chapter guys there or travel to other nearby locations to meet them. (Details to follow )
The Langley Castle Hotel
https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Rev ... gland.html
It looked a good choice along the Newcastle Carlise axis that had secure car park as well as sufficient rooms. The rooms in the main castle are quite a bit more than those in the castle view units. Theres at least 7 in castle view right now (which is what I estimate we need). So get booking.
For those of us heading south on Monday (different route) I will post hotel details later if you require these as well
Book the main three days above now. We can always cancel free of charge until quite late if we change our minds. Book the other (Thursday 17 May if you joining me on the way up
More updates to follow
cheers

Re: Border Blast - 2018
Remember at the Langley to update to 1 adult if you travelling solo. Some hotels it doesn't make much difference but it does here
Re: Border Blast - 2018
if you can't get a room at a reasonable rate, there are other B & Bs / hotels nearby heading towards Hexham
