Can't be arsed to post a pic, I'd have to resize down every time due to the forum restrictions.

Kind of agree with this so why don't we combine the pics at the end (first/last)? No one has any benefit from cheating really!
Todays weight 111.9kg (down from 115.4kg on 2nd Jan so pretty pleased thus far!)
What is our final end date? 1st May?

We could share a google sheet... Like this one but it might need relaying out...
(except I'm rubbish at spreadsheets)

A less than ideal 86.8 Kg this morning..
I'll be going until the end of March, I think I will hit my target weight (75kg) by then. Now, where's my salad recipe book

Re: Fat Club 2017
Bruce
I had an idle moment or two so I created an alternative NEW simple single sheet 'at a glance' Auto calculating Google 'Fat Club' spreadsheet.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pQHFboKeEPakotqtMF8hv8ze6VuOi-pMC8c76J3FgWw/edit?usp=sharing
I shall not be taking part in dieting personally (although I will be losing weight due to undergoing a Bariatric Sleeve Gastrectomy at the end of this month and am expecting to gradually lose +/-25% of my current weight (99.4kg) over the next 9 moths or so!)
Should the members of the 'Fat Club' wish to use this spreadsheet I am very happy to host this spreadsheet in my Google Cloud - however if anyone else wishes to host it please feel free to download it to your Google cloud and then re-share the changed (new) public link.
I have entered (I think?) all the names and data so far of those who have signed up - I have created a total of 12 'slots' in case anyone else wishes to join in?
Please note the Total Weight loss column will NOT BE CORRECT until the diet/spreadsheet is fully completed with all data entered to the end of march

Re: Fat Club 2017
Haha well... I was 75KG Monday AM and about 1KG heavier new years day. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I have always weighed around 69KG throughout my adult life. Over the last 6 months the weight has increased. I think it is an age thing more than anything. I will be 30 this year so I think it is just a case of realising I can not just eat what I want any more and get away with it. I have for many years been in to rock climbing but in the last couple of years family, work and cars have taken a priority. As a result my power to weight has suffered. I don't mind being slightly heavier than I was if my strength improves. Problem is due to my diet and lack of time to climb I have lost strength and gained weight, not good. I managed to get the climbing wall on Monday having not been for 4 weeks. It was rubbish and hard work. So I guess my personal goals are a little different. As I don't really want to loose weight as such, a little would be good but for me it is general fitness etc. I am on it though I have been more conscious of food intake and am exercising again. Also not had a drink since new years eve.

Would love to get back into rock climbing. Had great centres nearby when in Kent and London but nothing close now...

Yep. It's age. Men at 30 suddenly don't burn calories like they did before. There are various theories as to why... but mostly to do with slowing metabolism. This only gets worse... Sorry.
The big secret is to eat less and exercise more (but keep it to yourself!)

Yep, hitting 40 was like falling off a cliff for a me. Skinny as a rake prior to then, fattened up nicely since then. Dread to think what's coming for me at 50....

I can tell you!!!
30 is too young to be blaming body function on weight/muscle mass issues. Sure testosterone, growth hormone and others do decline in volume but that is generally considered to be noticeable in 40s and then the rate of loss increases from there.
Muscle mass decreases when older as the muscle cells, once damaged, don't repair as they did when younger. It gets more difficult to replace the muscle as you get older probably due to lower testosterone levels. However weight bearing exercises do stop and can reverse the decline. It's just harder.
Good thing is that you can maintain your muscular endurance more readily than your muscular strength. That's undoubtedly why older people look to long distance events rather than sprints.
At 53 (closing in on 54), it's taking about 40 or 50 miles a week running, 12 miles of rowing, a bit of cycling and a few sessions of weights to keep my rather average body uh, average. I don't eat a huge amount but do enjoy the odd tipple.
Losing fat is a long slow process.
Good luck to you guys on the fat loss/muscle gain.
