CarfFest South 2016 - 26th-28th August

Less driving, more natter. For when you just want to hookup.

CarfFest South 2016 - 26th-28th August

Post by Alex Brandon-Smith » Sun Oct 25, 2015 11:24 am

Here we go again!

I know it only seems like a few days ago that we were talking about the logistics for the last one but the tickets for CarFest South go on sale on November 5th, which means organisation will start to take place also.

If everyone's happy, I'm prepared to organise the event again and at the moment I'm just proposing to get a list of those who are interested to attend. I expect the setup will be the same as this year just gone, so 5 cars on display for the duration of the weekend. I'm expecting more than that to show interest so when the time comes we'll draw the names from a hat. Costs were about £100+VAT per car including 2 people for the weekend, plus £150+VAT for the camping pitch but they had increased last year so it's only a guide!

The weekend is always superb, even given the mud this year! The stand gets a lot of attention, especially from the Nomad! Generally it works best if people look to arrive Thursday afternoon and depart Monday morning or Sunday evening depending on weather. People can arrive first thing Friday morning but the site gets pretty busy and time is limited for access. Not least you get caught in the traffic for the general public attending the event.

The curry on the Thursday evening was a great laugh and it'll be good to have another good crowd there this year. For those who haven't been before there will be an expectation for you to spend some time on the club stand during the days - sorry I know it seems obvious but we don't just leave the cars as a free-for-all!

Therefore, a list of names for those prepared to attend please (please check you diaries as far as possible to do Thursday to Monday):

Alex, put my name down please.  My new Atom is due for delivery between June and September.  Hopefully I will have it by then.  I live not far from the car fest location

Thanks

Historically, Carfest North has never been supported by club members. The club has paid for places in the past but they have not been filled and it has lost money so that is why the club is not represented at this event.

I guess if you spoke to Tom and had 5 or 7 paid up cars, whatever the quota is this year, maybe it could be a goer?

Regards

Julian

Needless to say Alex the Yarsley family would love to attend.

This event is nearly as important as Christmas to my daughter!

Put our names down please with the usual caravan pitch.

Let me know what deposits are required etc and I'll settle up asap.

Thanks again for organising.

Paul, Hayley and Georgia.

I should be there, but with the Sporting Bears again. Will doubtless catch up for a brief natter at some point of the weekend.
