Those of you who joined Bods run out from Winchester last July, will remember what a great Sunday morning it was?

Well, we are proposing to do it again, as "Kick-off" run to the season. Time to dust off those SORNed Atoms and Nomads and join us for breakfast followed a drive on some great roads, followed by a pub lunch. Then head home.

This is an early placeholder to get it in the diary if you're interested in joining us. It will be in the south somewhere, still to be decided, or we could repeat the same great roads out from Winchester. Bod will be organising it again. Details will follow in the New Year.

As usual its all dependent upon the weather.

It would be worth seeing if the Northern Chapter want to do this on the same day and we can get a club report up about two meets at opposite ends of the country...

It's in the diary anyways.

Alex, agree. I know the Northern Chapter get together occasionally to do a run along the A686. Will talk to George. Need a Midlands get together?

Does the club own a private jet?

If so, I'm wondering if we should attempt a dual-event appearance on the same day, like Phil Collins did in that pop concert from the 80s...

Could be fun! I like Vimto.

Hi everyone!

Outline of the event here, exact details to follow.

Starting at a 'reasonable time' from somewhere in the Oxford/Bicester area which supplies breakfast (McDonalds seems likely!), over a route yet to be specified but compiled with assistance of Ian and Andy who have detailed knowledge of the area, we’ll finish at Caffiene and Machine, a recently-opened motor-themed cafe/pub in Ettington, just off the Fosseway south of Gaydon. I checked it out a few weeks ago (as have several other Ariel owners!) and it’s an excellent venue, hopefully the weather will be drier allowing more of the grass to be used for parking. We’ll aim to be there around 12:00/12:30.

More detailed information to follow soon!

Bod :)

McDonald's for breakfast?

Damn, the pangs of regret...

Alan

Don't think McDonalds is selected for its breakfast culinary delights, rather because its usually an easy to find open location, with plenty of parking to meet up and grab a quick coffee and some breakfast early on a Sunday morning. There may be other places, but like last time, if there are, they often don't have secure or easy access parking for a load of Atoms & Nomads. Anyway the finalised location isn't selected yet.

The culinary delights are at the end of the trip at the pub lunch :)
