wonder how often you need:

An engine rebuild?

New rod ends?

New tyres?

Still, looks nice.

Saw it at Autosport...

Didn't realise quite how steeply it was priced though.

Was wondering if anyone would post a topic about this.  Seems bad value compared to a lot of other track focussed cars

But fairly good value compared to other cars with 1000 bhp/tonne  ;D

Downside is that it has a massive 12 week waiting list.  :-\

I asked about the lights at the show as I thought they were nice. They're aftermarket and not too expensive...

Bruce, where were these from?  I need to tweak my set up and could try these out.

We may be in difficulties in the Autocar 0-100-0 this year.  >:(

Russell Savory also builds/modifies/sorts out the engines for the LCC Rocket.  I've seen his V8 and it's quite tiny and light weight - it's loosely based on two Yamaha 1000cc blocks.

I had the passing thought that it might fit into the Atom if a suitable transmission could be found.

The V8 has also been used in the cars from:

Russell didn't tell me - he did say he had a spare set back at the ranch though...

I am staggered  :o  :o  :o

I too saw this car at Autosport and just couldn't believe the direction the company is going in.  Firstly, imo, the car looked more westfield lightweight than Cater8am lightweight.

If you told me the car was £50k i would have been suprised but £115k

Who the f*** are they hoping to sell it to?

Having run a Cat*rham R40O for a few years - i can tell you more power with such a light rear end is simply crazy - you will not be able to get the power down without some very clever electronics but where does that take us  ::)

I am all up for Cat*rham going from strength to strength but ....gulp

No idea why, but the first thing that popped into my head was "Death Trap"...

...on second thought, I do know why. I mean come on people just buy an old F3000 our Indy car and get on with it. At least those have been crash tested.

Well looking at the site it does mention it "has a sophisticated electronics package including traction and launch control". Still too ugly though. Sure many people at that price would sacrifice some bhp per tonne for some better aesthetics.  Maybe get DP to put one of those Busa-derived V8's into their own Atom like he did.
