Anyone coming from the Bristol/Bath/M4-M5 Junction area and wishing to take the 'scenic route' rather than the M5 to Taunton-ish should be advised to avoid the A37 at Shepton Mallett - there is a big gardening show on at the Bath And West Showground which is likely to result in huge 5-10 mile traffic jams (ok not huge by chinese standards, but...)
I suggest the easily-found A39 via Wells, Glastonbury and Street - then ignore Google Maps' attempt to send you back to the A303/A37 junction and go via Somerton and Long Sutton - Long Load - Martock...
