punctures ?

Post by g8kam » Thu Oct 06, 2005 12:42 am

how would other atom owners deal with a tyre puncture.
do they just simply call breakdown recovery or uses tyre sealant?
if so, do they always carry a jack ?

Sealant is my choice
And I carry a card
To bring out the RAC
If the tyre stops being hard

I once read an interesting fact about roads in the West
When compared to others they really are best

One can drive for an average of 60k miles
without any punctures thus nothing but smiles

So my approach is remember the above stat
and not to worry about the chance of a flat

So if the law of averages should fail me one day
I will simply shout and swear then call the AA

As mentions been made
of the recovery service
I wonder which one
should I choose as I'm nervous

These knights of the highways
charge in varying amounts
so how can I be sure
I get what counts

Being stranded at the roadside
without a hard on
Wouldn't please Angie
and she'd soon be gone

The club has deal with the RAC
You'll save 15% on their quoted fee.

Plus a further £8 off If you join from a rival
That's better than slapping a fish 'gainst your navel.

They'll attend you roadsaide, as well as by your house, and
If you like the discount, quote reference DT1000

Just call 0800 716 976
You'll find there's not much that their knights cannot fix

I mentioned a hard on
it reminds me of email spam
I get in abundance
claiming it'll make girls a fan

I must not get side tracked
as deflations the issue
the other results
in crispy white tissue

I've now got the message
seems I need the can
containing pressured foam
so I get there to fix that LAN

Without wishing to lower the tone, of the poetry ...........

Best solution is to carry a plug kit.  Go to Partco, buy the puncture repair kit which the AA use (its about £30).  I have had one for ages and repaired assortedly the 355, 993RS, Blade and 1150GS (which has a plug in it now).  You need to get some CO2 canisters to pump the tyre up enough to get to a garage, then Bob's yer uncle and you don't have to wait 14 hours for the shining knights.

If you haven't got a Partco nearbye, go to any decent motorbike shop (decent here defined as those which stock what I am talking about!) and buy a motorbike puncture repair kit.  Or nick one from a mate's BMW bike.
