HELP!! How do I install the alarm in my Atom?

Post by Rickard » Thu Jan 05, 2017 5:26 pm

Hi,

I bought an alarm (SPY 5000), but cannot figure out how to connect it in the car to stop it from going off from vibrations when I drive...  The neighbours are getting sick of it... ;-)

I attach the information that came with it.

Really grateful if somebody can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Rick

Sounds like the alarm is still armed when your driving off.
At a guess the 12v to the ignition which is labeled - ignition disable - check this wire first - sounds like 12v to this wire disables the alarm.

That was my guess too, but I don't know where I should connect it on the car. Where is the ignition disable?

Thanks for helping me out

A wire that becomes live once the ignition is switched on - usually thats on the back of a typical car with the switch on the ignition key barrel - but obviously you have a lack of.
Under the dash maybe or a 12v socket that is live when the ignition is on.
Im sure there is a spare connector somewhere but at present i cant remember where it is - under the dash maybe anyone?
Obviously dont just bodge it in - a nice wrap of heatshrink is always advised on such an open vehicle if its going to be a permanent fixture.

There should be a 12volt live with ignition
There is one under the dash a two pin connector black wire /white wire
Also one behind the seat same wire colours
I spoke to the factory yesterday they say it's fuse D 6 20 amp
