Mirrors

Post by Stevef » Sun May 08, 2016 8:41 pm

I know it's been covered before and I've done a search and done a little research but I've not come to a conclusion. Having done my first track day in the car I noticed the wing mirrors weren't great and one thing I do like is to know what's going on around me. Along with the asthetics of the mirrors would anyone recommend some replacements in practical terms so I can actually see more.

Cheers

Steve

I can heartily recommend the mickey mouse ears that I use. They don't look as cool, but I can see everything behind me very well.

Ones like this.

Just make sure the mirror is convex (this one is). Also, check that the mirror will fit the nut on the 'dashboard'. Not sure what size that is. Could be 8mm or 10mm...?

I have a pair of 'Autobahn mirrors (US$89 - shipped to Cyprus) on their way from the USA - which hopefully should be arriving any day now!

I ordered them from 'Atomiser' who is an Atom Club member and who runs his Atom in Sacramento in California

Weird, since I think they work superbly - both on & off track. In fact I were thinking just how good they are when I was out & about y'day.

If you are referring to the Autobahn mirrors - may I ask you fitted them?

Thanks everyone for response. I assume Bruce that the mirrors need to be convex to remove blind spots?

Yup. And if visibility is your aim, them that's important. The Mirally's fitted as standard are good, but a bit small for my old eyes (despite the fact that I sourced them in the first place!)
