wider tyres/wheels

Has someone already played around with wider tyres/wheels?
and if so, what was found as the best solution?

I'm looking into this setup? (any advice for or against it?)

Front: 8*17 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 235 wide tyres
Rear: 9*17 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 255 wide tyres

or

Front: 7*16 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 225 wide tyres
Rear: 8*17 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 245 wide tyres


or

Front: 8*17 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 235 wide tyres
Rear: 8*17 ET37 4*3.75" PCD, 56.7mm bore with 245 wide tyres
