Steering Column Disassembly

Hi all,

I've stripped my AA2 (almost) to the bone ready for a chassis refurb. The last bit is causing me some head-scratching so a quick check here for guidance before a call to the factory if I may.

The steering column shaft has come out easily enough but there's a pair of metal outer sleeves, one each end, with a rubber bush between them and the tube that's welded to the frame (see attached). There are holes on top of the tube at each end that appear to have part of the rubber protruding.

Anyone know how to remove the sleeve / rubber bushes without damaging?
