Bicycle carriers on a Nomad

Hi,
Shortly I may be stepping up my efforts to buy a used Nomad (Naturally Aspirated).
Before I do so, I would like to gain a better awareness of how successfully bicycles may be carried on Nomads.
Has anyone on this forum had any experience of carrying bicycles?
One way in which I hope to be able to use my Nomad is to visit local National Trust properties with 2 bicycles (road as well as MTB) carried on the car so the area around the property can then be explored by bike.
I would like the task of loading and unloading the bikes to be as easy as possible with least fuss. For instance would it be possible to load the bikes without taking off the front wheel so the front wheels will not have to be stored somewhere? The attached photograph shows an arrangement which does not involve removing the wheel. However I think this may be a picture of a car built in America and I am wondering if such an option exists in the UK and, if it does, how well this works compared to carrier bars which involve removing the front wheels.
I expect the car will handle rather differently with bikes loaded!
