As far as the fingerprints go, don't US Citizens have to submit to the same it if they want a US Passport to visit other countries?

Don't know.  You certainly don't get printed / scanned on the way into the UK whereas you do every time you enter the US.

Just pointing out that ultimately, if the bad guys want to win, it's not difficult.

I'd much rather trust everyone and be occasionally disappointed, than mistrust everyone and only ever be proved right. I'd apply that on a political level, too - sadly the security services don't work that way.

There don't seem to be any smart hotels in Hallett. They all appear to replace the 'h' in hotel with an 'm'...

Could we hire one of these?

I've got a 10x20 EZUp with side panels. October should see the temperatures quite pleasant in the evenings. And if I can convince my father or brother to tag along with their 5th wheels (nice but maybe not as luxurious like the Prevost/Marathon/Bluebirds  above) we might have some additional floor space/pull out sofa sleeper. Too soon to tell though, Ask me again in 5 months when I'll have a better idea.

Ben, is your tent considered carry-on luggage? :)

Cobra: might be a lack of [UK and/or US  :)] English language skills, but I do not get what you are trying to say? An "or" question from my understanding requires to select
    a) none of the two options - this has already been ruled out as you at least (try to) provide one car for U.K. owners
    b) exactly one of the two options effectively ruling out the other
    c) both of the two options

Please enlighten me - if required by improving my English skills  ;)

Regards,

Klaus

I am 100% sure Cobra did not mean US/UK only and no Austrains !  Your English is correct in that is not exactly what he said, but I think you knew that ;)
