If you sweet talk Paddy, I'm sure he'll let you put something in his boot.

Sorry, Rob. Sounds like you can't put Lorna in Paddy's boot after all.

What versions of satnavs are we all using for this trip? Our old TomTom Rider (v2 or v3 I think) is getting on a bit, so considering a new one.  Heard mixed things about the shiny new TomTom Rider 400, as it uses a completely new operating system. Looks like some places still have the Rider V5 available, which I believe still uses the older operating system. Any opinions/advice?

I've got the rider 400 as does Bruce. He doesn't like it. I can't comment as I am only capable of switching it on and off. Andrew is coming with me so he will be navigator and his responsibility to load it at breakfast.

I am sure it's not that bad, this trip will tell.

Thank god for gibbo.

See you on the weekend.

Rider V2, with new battery. Still makes good decisions 98% of the time. Could be wider and higher resolution, but it's nine years old.

I haven't put the itn files on it yet.

Just testing the itn files on MyRoute and they don't work on the Rider V2. They transfer across but show as empty on the Rider. Couldn't find a fix online, so I've built new itn files. If you have an old Rider, you'll need my itns (if you have the same problem).

Long range forecast for northern Spain next week: unbroken sunshine, late 20s/early 30s.

Steve, my task for today was to download the .itn files from myroute to my V2 rider. Looks like you've just saved me the effort.
Could you email me your .itn files when you have them so i can preload? I suspect the battery on mine may not be up to the usual routine of a panicky breakfast download.  ::)

Cheers,
Rob.

Looks like AO48s then?

Do we have the usual 'tour brochure' with list of hotels and everyone's tel numbers?

Certainly 048s for the first week, if the long range forecast is good.

I'll send you itns tonight Rob. They may differ very slightly from Bruce's but not so much that it'll go off course.
