It's not really a feasible trip on a Saturday due to it being far too busy with tourists etc.
[/quote]
Being a dawn raid, there shouldn't be many tourists about... But happy to make it Sunday.
The Brighton Burn up meets at the Ace on the 15th so lots of old bikes for those who like that sort of thing...
And it's the Sierra Owners Club meet on the 22nd, so should be some exotic Dagenham jelly moulds to look at! (I once drove an XR4i)

Will we get in the car park with the Sierras, more of a chance with the bikes. I take it they actually go to Brighton, what time do they leave, by the time we get to the Ace they might of left?
Can we book spaces or not necessary?

I would think the XR4i was made in Belgium not Dagenham, the posher models usually were iirc. (1 x 1.8GL, 2 x 2.0 Ghia chez Yeats)

Particularly nice vehicles. Anyone remember the KAT bodykits for the machines?

I doubt there'll be more than a dozen Sierras there... Most were subject to Fe2O3
There will be lots more bikes, but they leave at 10:30 I think

You are forgetting the Cosworths which are likely to have been somewhat more looked after.

Re: 2013 Sunday Drivers London Dawn Raid - Correct dates added
Hi,
This is something I would like to take part in. Only had the Atom a month and have been on holiday for two weeks of that month, so have yet to meet another owner. I can make both proposed dates and would be travelling down from Cheshire, so Heston Sevices is ok for me. Always wanted to visit the Ace Cafe, and cant think of a better way.
Just let me know when you have fixed a date.
Fred

Fred,
It would be good to see you, big drive for you.
Incidentally, there are quite a few owners in the NW on here, if you proposed a local drive to you I am sure you would get a good response from people not too far from you.
Do you fancy coming to France with us in about a month for a weekend. There is quite a crowd going to Champagne, some travelling alone and some with partners. It will be a great weekend. A couple have dropped out. You may get on the same train as us or one near it and in the same hotel.
Regards
Julian
All the details are on here.

Re: 2013 Sunday Drivers London Dawn Raid - Correct dates added
Julian,
Thanks for the invite, I would love to come to France with you, but I have only just got back on Saturday, and have other commitments on the September dates. Maybe next year.
As for the long drive down to London, me and the wife completed a 1200 mile journey from Bergerac, to Narbonne, through Millau, Paris, Calais, Folkstone then on to Chester in 24hrs, last Friday/Saturday. NEVER again. (In a Mini)
Did the old pit buildings at Reims in 2012 with a few friends, in an Elise. Its a great photo opportunity if you get all the cars lined up, and one not to be missed.
