OK. This is meant just to link from the Calendar, but it's on March 25th.

I'll be meeting with Richard from Vegantune in a couple of weeks to finalise details, but it's going to be an opportunity to learn more about how to do stuff on your car, from a simple oil change to basic suspension setup, as well as (hopefully) the opportunityt to try out your car's power output on their brand spanking new rolling road, which is being delivered at the end of February.

In the meantime, updates as and when I have them...

From the M25 head towards London on the Southbound A1. Take the Borehamwood / Elstree turnoff and follow the directions for Borehamwood. Turn left into the Elstree Business Centre 200m after the slip road roundabout before the BP garage. Sign in at Reception and ask for Vegantune.

you lucky souls......i mean not only will you get to learn about all those atom oily bits, but you will also be able to admire my atom, as it lives there, cleaming and taking pride of place in the workshop (well it gives all those noble owners something to look at whilst they are there)

That saves me taking my atom. You need your valve clearances checked?  ;D

Bruce,

Specifically will this cover all the routine servicing on the Ariel Maintenance schedule?

Will they have a supply of fuel filters etc. there or will there be a shopping list?

Thanks.

feel free practice on mine.... i think they have got a big hammer and a bicycle spanner on hand, so you should be fine, the clearance is about ...oooooo, that much! that'll do!

That's a good question, so here's another two:

What would you like to learn on the day?

And what would you like there to be available?

Battery connections + condition
Wiring harness security + condition
Chassis earths condition + security
Outboard suspension joints
Pushrod joints
Damper condition
Wheel alignment + camber
Ride Height
Harness security + operation
Secondary fuel filter
Fuel Lines
Ignition coils
Spark Plugs
CV gaiters
Wheel bearing condition
Steering rack gaiters

Might be an idea if someone takes a video camera and /or a digital camera.

I feel a servicing DVD coming on!

Do you think that's an option?

Thanks Bruce,

Ok, so I haven't done any spannering for a few years... These are the things I'd like to be covered:

Outboard suspension joints - What do you check / do? Just spray Sailcote on them or something more?
Pushrod joints - Do what and how?
Secondary fuel filter - I guess this is straightforward.
Ignition coils - Do what and how?
Spark Plugs - How do you get in to them?
Valve Clearances - Do what and how?
Alternator drive belt/tensioner bearing - Do what and how?
Air filter - Is this the spongey bit inside the cowling or is there another filter somewhere?
Lubricate gear linkage, throttle cable - Silly question really but how do you lubricate a cable abd with what?

As you can see, as a Scottsman I'd get my money's worth!  ;)
