Beaulieu Supercar Showdown - Monday 26th August

Post by Andyo » Wed Jun 26, 2013 1:45 pm

Hi All

Just a quick message to see if any Atom owners might fancy a trip to Beaulieu on Monday 26th August to participate in our annual Supercar Event. I know some may be involved with Car Fest South on the two days before our event but why not make it three in a row.

I can offer two free tickets per car, entry to museum, Bond exhibition, Top Gear cars (all of the attractions basically). I also put on light refreshments throughout the day for you (teas, coffees etc). We also run a small demonstration straight to show the visitors how these cars can accelerate. We will have around 150 Supercars on display so its a very chilled out day and hopefully enjoyable for all.

The guys from Ariel normally come along but with a busy weekend in store they are unable to make this year, so if any members fancy a day out at Beaulieu or want further info please do let me know on here or my email is andy.ollerenshaw@beaulieu.co.uk

The more the merrier

Cheers Guys

Andy

I can vouch for this as being a cracking event - shame Ariel can't attend in person this year but it would be a good excuse for an Atom Club molecule.....  :tu:

Personal view but I would venture that its a bloody sight more fun driving Brand GP than watching some other chaps driving it - anyone else at Brands GP next thurs

How many times do we have to do that in a day and is it 1/4 of a mile

The straight is around a total of 500meters. We are obviously not Goodwood or Laverstoke Park, we don't a hillclimb so we are making the most out of what we do have. A lot of events we hold at Beaulieu are Static displays and this one is the only one we allow speed and movement on - around 60/70mph (give or take). We do it twice a day, once at 12.00 and once at 15.00

Its 2 x about 250 meters. Plenty of space/distance to give it some beans. Its there to demonstrate acceleration and braking at speed. I fully appreciate the Atom is a cut above the rest when it comes to this.

Video from last year - we only did 250 meters last year (one length) but doubling this year, V8 Atom at 9min 2 sec
