It can be quite tiring, so having a few breaks is advisable. I always take a spare helmet for passengers. It's not strictly essential but if some little kid hurt themselves in the Atom, I imagine the whole event would be put in jeopardy for the following year.

Be prepared for differing reactions - some kids scream out loud and love it, some stay quiet for the whole ride and leave with a big grin. They all love it, they just have different ways of showing it! One of my favourite Atom days of the year – some of these kids have Atom posters on their wall (literally) so you're making a dream come true for them.

It's a huge amount of fun to do, it is quite tiring. There's also a lot of other stuff to see so some comfy shoes to walk round in are a good idea, however a pair of cushioned running shoes make braking very very difficult as I found to my cost on Saturday last year.

I've always brought either skiiing goggles or a paintball mask for passengers, really don't want one to lose an eye though I've never had a problem with stones there.

One other thing worth mentioning is that the braking points are substantially different when you have a 7 stone child as the passenger followed by a 17 stone "rugby player"

nice pic. :)

Just a note to say how much fun I had on Saturday at this event, lots of money raised by all accounts. Great to meet some seasoned Atom owners as well as newcomers to the brand. As is the way, I'm awful with names but to clarify, I was the owner of the Zonda Orange Atom (mirror visor for my poker face black flag look). Good to hammer the old car around the track once again overtaking all manner of exotica. :)

If any drivers needing another charity fix then I can recommend wishes 4 kids day at Donnington in July, PM me if you would like the details of the organiser, it really is a reality check, and a great event.

roll on supercar event 2014!

I ache, a lot, and my Atom needs some TLC too, but that was a lot of fun.

Couldn't agree more! An absolute blast and a great day out for the kids. Superb reactions to the Atom. Positive all round (excepting one girl who begged to get out before we started!)

What a great event, I had a brilliant time made even better by knowing it was all for a good cause!

Hoping to get the chance to participate again next year, and do both days instead of just the one  ;D
