If the factory are going please could they let us know! I have not been for 2 years and they have!

If you can take the day off work, the Times newspaper group have for the last couple of years done a free offer for tickets on the Friday - good to catch up on Sunday by the way.

I know always did this for a number of years and then stopped going and the factory started going!

When do the Times offer the tickets? I'll be a pensioner then, so no working on a Friday, or any day, but little money.

Some time in the lead up. Not exactly sure as a friend usually collects the tokens. Probably worth someone posting on here if they see it.

Quite fancy going this year, never been so:
Which is the best day in your opinions?
Do I need to worry about a grandstand ticket, or can I just get one on the day if I decide to?
Thanks in advance

I wouldnt worry abt a Grandstand myself - never have before - I have done this time just coz I got it cheaper.
Friday is quietest day - not all the top drivers but mostly the same cars. Sat and Sun get busier and busier. Just a bit too busy really for me.
I have only been a few times though so not sure i am most reliable source.

Helen and I are going on the Saturday. Our first time too, so would be grateful for any suggestions on how to make the most of the day.

The FOS is so big now it's almost impossible to see it in one day. With the Motor Show element this year it will probably be a 2 day event if you want to see everything. The traffic builds up very quickly indeed so plan to get there really early and get breakfast on site otherwise you will spend the morning trying to get into the car parks! The rally area is at the top of the hill and is quite a climb so take your time. If you fancy doing any of the side events on offer then do them as early as possible as the queues are huge in the afternoon.
We have always bought Grandstand tickets just in case it rains (and we take the Grandparents too!) but in three visits the only thing we have needed shelter from is the blazing sunshine!
If the weather is good, then take something to sit on as there are plenty of good viewing areas and more than one or two beer tents
Cheers,
Stu

Once did it as a guest of Charlie Gordon-Lennox... which was nice!
I'd follow the' get there early' advice
Also pay as much as you can to get as VIP as you can. It's not huge wonga but it is worth it!
Saturday is the day to go I think.
