Sounds like a plan. Only thoughts on early evening are that the later we turn up, the less chance of getting us all pitched together but happy to go with the group.

I'm coming from Christchurch way so happy to link with anyone else meet at the gate (or a services close) for a set time...

Don't panic, if we are in the same field it was huge, there were probably 10 - 20 tents pitched but you could of had a 1000. It will depend if we are in the same place which the organisers couldn't tell me last week. Let's get the plan of the site and go from there.

If people want to arrive later it's easy to meet and dish out wristbands.

Chaps, is everyone leaving on Sunday night after 7pm or Monday morning? Just getting a consensus...

I would advise staying until Monday, better to chill out, relax and watch the bands on the last night (Reef at the North event, who were very good apparently).

Yeah was kind of thinking the same as we also have friends who are there on the Sunday and I'd love to see Reef. Chance the Mrs might go home in the Audi Sunday but no problem with that...

I will be going home on the Monday so I can have a drink on the Sunday.

I have had a look at the site plan that Tom sent through. We are in a totally different camping field and area to last year but it looks better, not so far to walk to the action. It looks like the organisers are going to be strict with the rules regarding car parking but even so the car park is not far from the camping. (additional car)

As far as our exhibitors area is located, we are in the same area / position as last year.

Sounds good to me Julian. I was going to stay until Monday too. The map looks like we might even have a little peace as far away from the main camping as possible! No problem on the cars being parked away really. Might be time to lock down some definitely times for arrival etc.

We're probably likely to be around from say 3pm arriving at the site. What is everyone else preferences? We can then swap numbers (for those we don't already have) via PM.

seems like a tightly run ship

so extra cars are to go in the car park (not on the camping area) ?

do we need to book for the extra cars ?

Looks like we get a car each as standard which will go into the exhibitor/day car park next to the field. I've printed out two of the temporary passes. One for the Atom, one for the Audi and I guess we'll get proper passes when we arrive.

With regard arrival times on Thursday, I think Anrew 300 is going to be at mine in Chiswick at 4pm, so I guess we will be at laverstoke farm around 5.30 pm. We are meeting Simon at fleet services on the way down. Whoever gets there first, if they collect wristbands and we will find you I guess tents up and cars in situe, then hopefully on th p*ss!

Hope I have that right?

I met Alex Jones in the pub the other night, the one show is being broadcast from Carfest on the Friday. She  says she will do her best to come to our stand with Chris, I am not holding my breath as I am sure she forgot the name of the cars as soon as I walked away!

Regards

Ok Julian that sounds sensible. We are pretty flexible here but are happy to aim to meet at 5.30ish if it works for most. Anyone heading over earlier?

Nice work on meeting Alex too! Was hoping we might bump into Chris!

I have just seen on the site, that apart from selling out all of the display spaces, they have also sold out all the tickets for 'normal' entry.

I was just going to turn up as a punter, but it seems that they are full.

I know Simon is trying to get hold of an extra ticket for one of his daughters, I think he has got Andrew's if he is not taking a passenger?

As exhibitors we can purchase additional tickets either for all weekend or daily. I think the day tickets are £20 and all weekend works out cheaper.so if anyone wants to come we can get tickets and meet you on the gate.

Amongst other things I will bring an ice box and buy bags of ice  from wherever to keep beers and wine cold. Can others do the same if room?

Re Chris Evans, you will see plenty of him as he rides around in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang all weekend. Last year he didn't get to come to any of the car stands but Atom Club got a mention on Radio 2 the next day.

Fingers crossed for a dry weekend!

Julian

Guys,

If its like the north just go and see the club organiser (it was Sarah for the north) when you get all your bands for the weekend and ask her for some additionals. She was fine with an extra couple for some of our members over the weekend.

Chris wandered round the club stands at the north event and was a lovely chatty bloke.
Each morning try and get there early (7ish) as you'll get to walk round the pits which was normally sectioned off to the general public.

Hope you all have a good weekend and the weather is good
