I think the chap who bought it was enquiring about my car before he went for this. Should have bought mine...was a relative bargain in comparison :-)

I'll let him introduce himself in due course

I did John, was going to post something after my first track day and introduce myself so helpful you've asked...purchased it a while ago but asked the factory to replace the black on black decals with light blue to try to tone down the black/orange a bit!

You're right Greame, you have a lovely car and I probably should have bought it, as far as Mrs is concerned, I did!

Ordered an outdoor cover and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it, fits like a glove and has straps to secure.

Not had a chance to have a real play yet but certainly lively...I have a few track days booked at Oulton & Anglesey so will get a chance then : :)

looking forward to meeting some of you guys and if you're at any of the track days pls come over and say hello

cheers

Chris

A very marvellous car indeed, I'd like to know if that power upgrade is noticeable. It'd be a seriously tempting present to oneself.
Need a but more grunt Tony?

Any power upgrade is a obligation of available😁

Very nice car, no regrets buying this one instead of a “normal one”, the sadev makes the car.

Thanks for the warm welcome...

No deal was necessary, I managed to bamboozle her with a combination of man maths and covid carpe diem philosophy :D

Alan, I did enquire with Ariel re the 17bhp upgrade, I seem to remember it was £12k.
I thought it was a lot of money, it’s new pistons, engine rebuild, so a lot of work, hence the cost.
It’s not often I drive the Atom and I wish for more power!
If it was £2k I would consider.
Henry suggested I should by this one, rather than spend money on mine (with the Sadev too), but I’m attached to my old manual car.
I hardly did any mileage last year, hoping to get more use out of it this year!!

Tracked a 620R in 2019 and whilst it was brilliant when it worked it was frustratingly sh*t when yet another gremlin emerged, and I hope, and please forgive me as I am new to Atoms, that there is better build quality and reliability. The immobiliser fob has already brought back some painful memories from the 7!

Welcome, that is a fantastic car and must have cost over £110k when new. I believe it was previously advertised by the factory for £100k in 2019 and sold, so you did well to get it for £10k less. I can't see you losing any money on it.

Re. reliability, they do generally seem to be more reliable than other similar types of cars, Caterham included, especially if the factory looks after them.

If you haven't seen it, there's a great track car comparison video by Fifth Gear, including the 620R vs 3.5R. The 620R seemed not be 100%...
