Re: What the 'F.....'!!
Hmm .. the Ariel Hypercar notes claim 1,327 ft-lbs torque from very similar HP figures, so GM are either not comparing eggs with eggs or there's anothger story behind that - Not sure how it can develop 10 times more torque yet have the same Horse Power.
It's possibly instantaneous torque which dwindles away within milliseconds ?
Something doesn't add up!

I think it's quite straight forward with electric to stick some batteries, a speed controller and a motor or 4 in and make it accelerate quickly... that's electric motors for you, instant and flat torque. Hence many electric cars (rimac, tesla model s, porsche taycan) do <3 second 0-60. Your only really new problem is balancing all that with range.
All the other properties, handling, aesthetics, comfort, practicality... they're all just the same as they always were, harder.

Re: What the 'F.....'!!
Ah, I see a bit more now ..
From Ariel's website re the Hypercar :-
"Total torque is
1,800 Nm (1327 ft lb) at motor and 9,900 Nm (7301 ft lb) at the wheels in the 4 wheel drive HIPERCAR
and 900Nm (664 ft lb) at motor and 4,950 Nm (3651 ft lb) at the wheels in the 2 wheel drive car."
So the 11,000 GM figure for the Hummer is measured at the wheels for all 4 of its driven wheels.
