Anyone for a Dyno day?

Post by Peter255 » Thu Aug 30, 2018 12:15 pm

Just a thought? Anyone up for it?

Bit of a get together and a chat and run some cars up on the rollers.

They will do a power run and give you a print out showing the fuelling etc to check for any issues.

I was thinking one Saturday and price would be about £40 per car. Venue tbc. If we get some interest i'll put out feelers.

I know all rollers give different figures :o this is just for fun and to compare / contrast some cars on the day.

Anyone interested?

Cheers
Peter

Hi Chris, Being a lazy git that's a bit far for me. I am looking for something <1hr drive away tbh.

I have been here a few times with other cars www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk

45mins approx. from Newbury.

They have availability and we can book groups of 5-10 cars on Saturday 27th October. £40 per car. Power run and power and torque graph provided.

Who is game? :)

Peter255 -YES to 27th!

If one were to Google rolling road dyno it would show the distribution of many in the south of England. Maybe chose something in between all those that say they want to do it?

Peter, I have no problem with that. It just means I get to drive further! :vroom:

I'm happy to go with the majority.

Nick,

Stop making it more complicated! :P

In all seriousness i'd prefer recommendations and we need Saturday opening. :-\

OK so post your locations as well?
Peter255 - Newbury
Sir Nick Yate Bristol
IanG oxon
Phil4 South Oxfordshire
dc5ian [can you confirm approximately?]
Chris Denton Northampton

So thats a few nearish to Newbury, one unknown, Nick nearish to Bristol and Chris further north.

Need to check / ring a few places maybe not so far east as SRR and see what they offer, how much, do they open on Saturday and availability. :-\

I'd be up for the Pete. Let me know how you get on. South clearly better for me but Surrey way good too.
310=325! That'll be the Presidential Remap kicking in... :vroom:

Im south west london

Dynos near me are:

Eurospec (guildford) this is a harsh dyno

Surrey rolling road

Phonex tunning ( chertsey) owned by a good friend. Can possibly ask him for a good rate. this is a hub dyno, very accurate but takes a bit longer to get set up. So if we have more then 10 i suggest using rollers.

Tdi south (dartford) hub dyno again. this will prob be a bit a the expensive side. They charge 70 per hour

There is a dyno in Aylesbury too which ive been on.

Ive just spoken to my mate who owns a dyno. Hes more then happy to do it for us. My car also goes to him for tunning in a few weeks. So i could potentially leave it there and get the results when everyone epse turns up on the date.
