Just seen the booking form from Tom.

All i will say is check all the prices before you book anything. :-\

For comparison a standard track day in August / September @ Thruxton is £159. Noise will be an issue on a normal day but if you think you can meet 90dB(A) static its a better option. Normal days are also much cheaper if you plan on having 2 drivers. Usually £159+£20 total for two drivers on a normal day.
Atom 4, Clio v6, & some other cars obviously.

I saw the price and know it's more than a normal track day at Thruxton as Thruxton is not a GP circuit it is normally quite inexpensive compared to Silverstone for example. But my rationale for going: 1) I would not normally be able to drive at Thruxton, in fact I have never been there, I don't think I have ever had a car that is quieter than 90dB apart from my wifes Fiat 500 2) it's an exclusive track day for only Ariels.

They are including bacon butties, lunch and cups of coffee though. I imagine that they'll have some form of track support too, if they do the same as they did at Combe on the last event. This alone could be worth the extra few sheckles. Unique opportunity Pete, with I imagine fewer cars than usual at Thruxton. I'm in :tu:

Cheers,
Stu

When we arranged the Combe event, the club subsidised some of it. You have to look at the total hire cost and then speculate on the number of Atoms or Nomads you'll get attending to arrive at a fee. That's unlike a TDO hiring a track and being pretty sure they'll fill all their spaces – allowing them to offer a lower fee.

I am just posting up the facts so people can make up their minds BEFORE they commit to anything. ;)

I stand by my comments that IF you can make the noise restrictions on a normal day that a better option due to the massively lower cost.

I fully understand a dedicated day has benefits, and i am not suggesting Ariel are going to make a huge profit. Booking the entire track is going to be costly, and having staff onsite isn't cheap.

I will probably come because I have made arrangement and commitments now and paid deposits etc. Plus i cannot make the normal noise restrictions @ Thuxton (i don't think). But if i had know up front the cost i would probably have considered binning this and paying a little more to drive a GP tier circuit.

For the sake of clarity – Thruxton is not JUST a track day. Thruxton don’t normally include breakfast, lunch, skid pan, the 4x4 course or an auto-test.

I'm assured Ariel are subsidising the day, as the club did for Castle Combe back in 2015.

You can still passenger at Thuxton, Preseh. There will be plenty of experienced drivers that won't mind taking you out. And you'll have access to the Landie 4x4s on the offroad circuit (I think I'm right in saying, check with Tom at Ariel).

Intrigued now. For some reason I can’t download the rest of the PDFs. How much is the trackday? We did the landowner and skid pan at the Summer gas, so I’m really only interested in the track time.

If the factory where to bring a 4 for pax rides I a sure they would secure a load of deposits from us last gen laggards!

Prices
One Ariel – includes track day, 4x4 course, skid pan, autotest, morning bacon rolls, lunch, tea and coffee £295 (which includes 1 x car and 1 x driver)
Extra person/passenger/driver – includes all of the above £55 per person

I assume everyone makes their way home after Thruxton?
