Re: What's the point?
Because they can ?
Some might say the same for Ariel Motor Company products, it's just a bit more up the 'extreme' scale
There's plenty of people out there with money to burn ..

Re: What's the point?
Bugatti are a company, designing cars to sell... so they clearly thing there's a market, or they want some attention because they've not released a new car in some time and people are forgetting about them.
Take Ariel for example, we know you can buy an Atom 4 for £40,000... but most don't. Prior to the 4 if you had deeper pockets there was a 3.5R, and there still are the v8 you can get second hand if you really want to spend the money.
As John says, even at this extreme level there will be people with the money, and would rather get the "best" rather than something everyone else has.
Don't like the look myself, so if I had a few more zeros in the bank, I still wouldn't.

I'm sure it will look lovely in some collector's garage.
Not convinced by luggage space though.

Re: What's the point?
I should have clarified the question?
What's the point of a road going car that can do 305mph?
Where in the world (except the Bonneville salt flats and one or two other places) can you do this sort of speed?
In my opinion maximum acceleration (with commensurate braking) to around about 120mph is all that's really needed for the public roads!

Re: What's the point?
These sorts of cars have always defied any logic and at present it is only a concept. The scary thing is, in a few years time, a new Rimac-developed electric Bugatti will blitz this car's performance in every way...
Exciting times ahead!
