On the speedo a 300 will get between 150-155 on the Bedford straight.

depending on how fast u get out of the hairpin and how late you brake, you can just nudge 140 in a 220 at Bedford..............I can then get 130-135 before the next hairpin

That sounds about right to me.  Will have to mount my GPS on the car next time out to see what speed I am actually hitting 'vs speedometer speed.  Has proved accurate at lower speeds but no reason to beleive that at faster speeds, on the other hand with the electronics used accuracy should not depend on speed.

My Atom speedo is GPS accurate to 130mph.

actually.....mine has just stopped working completely.......how annoying.

Mine jutters now and again, Mr Toad said at Bedford last time out it might be the magnate on the gearbox thingy!!

There is a small disc shaped magnet bonded to the inner axle joint at the left hand side of the gearbox.  The Hall effect transducer \ sensor that reads the manetic pulse as the axle rotates relies on the magnet being fairly close to the sensor as it passes by.  Also, the polarity matters.  The sensor will only work wih the magent in one polarity orientation, so don't flip it over.  The sensor has a threaded body and a plastic lock nut on eaither side of the plate it rides in.
You can loosen one and then adjust how close \ far away from the magnet the sensor sits, then retighten the lock nuts nuts.

The sensor has to be close enough to measure a pulse as the magnet passes by, but not so close to hit it, make mechanical contact.  When it's too far away, you'll see the intermittent reading your seeing.  Or no reading at all.
An easy fix.
