The Four Corners area in the US. Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico. Most of it is on The Navajo Reservation. The roads are smooth, with lots of character. Tons of turns and elevation changes. No one is up there - and it's incredibly beautiful.

Here's another one of that area, it's called the Devil's Staircase and the road you see has several thousand foot drops on both sides.

Wisp,
How could I forget, if not the best they do rank with the most beautiful. Here's a pic I took going over the mountains to Milford Sound.

Barstards, barstards, barstards.

If we had weather and roads like that I'd never SORN my car (probably never get out of it either!)

Just come back from Tenerife.  If you avoid the 1 motorway I reckon the roads there would be brilliant for the Atom. Only 2 drawbacks:

1) Lots of tourist coaches  :(
2)HTF would you get it there  :o

Yep, some of the roads in the South Island are absolutely stunning to drive. Milford Sound is a great example. The North Island has some great winding roads as well. I lived at the end of 10 kms of tight winding country road in Wellington for about 10 years and this is where I learnt to drive. This was great fun to drive at 3am in the morning when there was no one on it. Can't wait to drive it in the Atom when I eventually get back to NZ!

I always thought it looked like a landscape architect designed the country!

Here's one you don't want some coming the other way...........far West Maui.

This is fun.

 Yep, there's plenty of those sheep tracks around  :tu: Great fun until you run into a huge sheep truck or some mad farmer coming the other way.

This road isn't for the faint hearted.
Does anyone know where it is?
