Classic Car Weekend - Auckland NZ 13/02/10

The Classic Car Weekend is an annual event, held in Auckland, that consists of a Fun Run on Saturday and a car show on the Sunday. The car shows main event is the Intermarque Concours d'Elegance. There where 5 runs this year and I opted for the one that finished on the Awhitu Peninsula, SW of Auckland. This Google Maps Link shows the route.

                                                            This has a flat head V6 Corvair motor.

The destination was a Regional Park, by the water, surrounded by rural countryside.

After a picnic lunch, at Awhitu Regional Park, many of us drove further up the peninsula. The roads are fun in a car like the Atom and the scenery, when you slow down, is worth a look.

All in all a great day. However my face got sun/wind burnt to hell.

Not on this particular run. But there were 5 different runs to other destinations all happening at the same time. Morgan did have a group of cars on display at the show on Sunday.

Well if you see one, and its a rare one as raced at Le Mans I think, then he is called Tim and mention me !
