Nomad 3 Spotted Testing?

Post by John Scherrer » Thu Jul 11, 2024 2:27 pm

A friend was at Turweston Airfield (Brackley) at midday this morning and said he saw a somewhat "silent" Nomad testing on the runway.

Was brought in in an unbranded covered trailer towed by a Disco 4 with 3 folk in attendance.

Is there an electric version in development or was the wind blowing in the opposite direction?

Simon Saunders and Ariel's Chief Engineer Jim McKechnie were being interviewed by Matt Prior and Steve Cropley on Autocar's weekly podcast this week and they mentioned they are still actively looking at EV powertrains, and this Autocar article from October seems to confirm they have £300k to spend on an electric Nomad:
