Has anyone tried putting down a deposit for the Nomad 2 yet?

Currently have a deposit down for a Nomad - have checked in with the factory and no confirmation as to when Nomad 2 is being launched, but they were very reassuring re: when its on the horizon they will let people on the waiting list know so they don't miss out. On the basis that my car isn't due until late 2023, I am hoping the Nomad 2 will be along in that timeframe!

Has the factory produced any Nomads recently? All I see in pictures are Atom 4's...

Beginning of September I was told that the next Nomad builts are on the schedule for end of the year.
At present they do Atom 4 only as per the customer order sequence.

Did my usual sniff around the factory when I was there on 11th Sept. Guy on the production line said they had a small 'regular' Nomad build scheduled and sure enough, there were half a dozen brand new K24 engine on pallets in the yard. I was a bit surprised about the shipment of K24s from Honda as I thought they are no longer making them. I'm not aware of any current Honda using it, and thought Ariel had stockpiled them. Everyone still saying nothing useful about Nomad 2. Personally I'm sceptical about anything imminent in the absence of nothing visible yet whatsoever.

Someone on FB reckons the Nomad 2 will be around in 26 weeks time. Anyone else have any info on this?

That's me Jerry, it was an email from Ben Gunn (and I meant 28 months, edited on FB!):

..."we are in the midst of Nomad 2 design and the chances of that being here by the time the 28-month lead time is up, is fairly high I’d say… hopefully."

I imagine they will use quite a lot of the improvements that they implemented on the Atom 4 vs. the 3.5 - aluminium hubs, thicker chassis tubing, revised suspension geometry to reduce squat and dive and as, Matt Jones Nomad "1" shows, the new dash and the AP Racing brakes. The biggest question is whether they will use the same drivetrain as the 4 - which I assume they will - but perhaps using the traction control and the variable boost controller to enable the driver to optimise it for use on road and then off-road?.

When I was there tail end of last year, Steve R was telling me how they'd designed the apertures to allow easier ingress and egress. That's all I know.
