First mod complete - Quarterlights

I've absolutely no idea if these make any difference when driving. I've made them, fitted them but it's hammering down!

Therefore it's whiskey time

One cardboard draft. One mockup and then two cut. I thought about silicone attaching to the frame instead of cable tie. Given I'm still playing around ideas it seemed silly to mark the frame. Hence cable-ties.

It strikes me a small eberspacher heater would neatly install behind the passenger footrest. The exhaust could be routed out of the tub.....
This could give one warm stream of air to the windscreen and one into cabin.

Before that though I need to complete the seals a'la Karl's project trenchfoot

Interesting idea about fitting an Eberspacher however you would have to install it in a waterproof housing because, as I discovered to my cost on my last sailing boat, an Eberspacher REALLY doesn't like getting wet!

These are also extremely temperamental devices often for no obvious reason mine, on average, needed some sort of repair at least twice a year!

- you would also have to install a small crash resistant diesel fuel tank somewhere in the car in a place where it can be refilled easily without making a mess.

One other thing to consider is that these heaters have a rather high current draw when first starting up.

Yes, you're right in all of that

Using a mount box it could be @2-3" higher than the floor.
With the right tank, it could be in the frunk. Or use a 'B' series heater and take a feed off main tank.

Previous installs on my offroaders andd race van have all been super reliable, I can't empathise on a lack of reliability.

I can't envisage ever having more than 2" of water in the tub but as somebody who once watched their bobtail'd&truck-cabbed discovery float off downstream......best laid plans of mice'n'men.......an all that.
