Morning all,

Has anyone got any good websites to look at green lanes etc? Need to find some that are appropriately sized for the Nomad in the Essex area...

Toby,

Check out your Ordnance Survey maps of the area, and there is a resource called Trail Wise https://www.trailwise2.co.uk/ if you join the Green Lane Asscociation you get automatic enrolment to TW2. Its a list of all the UCRs (unlcassified roads) and BOATS (byway open to all traffic) in the country with notes and if there are restrictions in place on the lane. That and take it steady at down them as at the moment there are ALOT of horses and walkers around that might get grumpy! Ive certainly seen an increase in the local area here since people have had nothing to do but walk and ride!

However - id be careful laning at the moment, as i have heard of people being fined for laning during lockdown, as its not really classed as an 'essential journey'. I think the statement of 'unlimited outdoor exercise' doesnt encompass mucking around in Nomads! but its open to interpretation I spose.

All the best

I also use https://www.bywaymap.com/ to get a rough idea of what is where, before drilling into the detail that Henry mentioned.

I use following:
http://www.qwerf.com/greenlaning/?county=surrey

Some counties are better than others - and its a bit old now so needs checking before venturing out - but a lot have videos of the track - which helps !

A resource from my Laning and offroading days;

http://www.wetroads.co.uk/

You might even find a review or 3 from me but they will likely be dated @2003 !
