You can't own an off road car without taking it off road. Unless you do the school run of course.
And keep in mind it's a 'Tarmac Rally Car' for 'light off-roading' only ;)

Nomad R in the Top Gear Speed Week issue out today.
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

Watching that video and the few cut aways to the R - what a noise! Will be very interesting to read the reviews....they normally do follow up videos don't they on each car?

Just received my Top Gear magazine - not a huge write up - hopefully they will release some videos in time.
The Nomad R is in the 'convertibles' section, up against a Morgan, Boxster GTS and Aston Vantage. Suffice to say in the group the Nomad comes out on top with a glowing review! Odd though that they then don't take the class winner through to the final shootout - no convertible goes through - they always used to take each class winner and decide the overall!
Still, a big thumbs up to the R!

Has everyone had the call from the factory to sort the final spec out?

I finalised my spec this morning, it’s a bit eye watering high, as went bit mad ready for track days. Decided to get custom helmet made too, so it match’s the car. Exciting times!

Matching helmet!? Nice. Do you have any details as I’m also a biker and need a new lid. Could do two birds with one stone...! What brand And model are the lids?

I’m either white as press car or now toying with gunmetal chassis, black body panels and then the yellow/gold R decals to match the ohlins. Thoughts??

Nomad with gunmetal chassis and ohlins, and Ohlins panels.

And the same car with (granted less flattering setting), gunmetal bonnet (black engine cover you can’t see).

Not a Nomad R, and not the same exactly as you mentioned, but hope it helps a little.

I do like my gunmetal frame, but I would be tempted by white if I did it again.

On the helmet Tom recommended this company at the best around, I'm also member of the Super Car Driver club, they are also sponsor so you get 10% off, they do the Redbull helmets etc.

The gunmetal looks mean, but I'm sticking to the factory car pearl white.

Imageinteresting and good points. A shame really Nomad R can't just be added to the model lineup (although I think the tranmission is a bit OTT, but I can see why they have done it, it must indeed be a hoot one you have got used to it), although I guess its a bit niche, a bit like my JPE Caterham (only a handful of people in the world remember what such cars are about 20 years on if they are built in such small numbers). I just happended to be in the Ariel factory last Monday getting the 2nd service on my Nomad, and snapped the Mighty 'R' right here.
