Nomad R
Re: Nomad R
The mix of being nearly as quick on track (let’s be fair, you need to be a very accomplished driver to get that last percentage in all of them!), more suited to our generally crappy roads, and able to do a gravel/dirt track all with more theatre than anything on the road is a win in my eyes!
I shall not worry about mileage, I’ll look after it but it will be used! Plus shows and events I reckon!
Just give the keys
No mention from Henry about having it any time before Spring 2021 FYI

Re: Nomad R
I’ve already confirmed longer gearing too. Not for top speed but cruising comfort. Henry said he will be calling all the new owners within the next couple of weeks to confirm as they need to order the units.
So get thinking

They are great fun on track and fast enough to surprise others. I found I was sideways on most corners on the 15in wheels once I got use to the amount of movement. Don't bother with fast tracks though otherwise I think you'll be disappointed.Valey80 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 9:57 pm The mix of being nearly as quick on track (let’s be fair, you need to be a very accomplished driver to get that last percentage in all of them!), more suited to our generally crappy roads, and able to do a gravel/dirt track all with more theatre than anything on the road is a win in my eyes!

At 80 it is around 3.5k on the standard gearing but the k20 revs far higher than the k24 (8.6k to 9k vs 7.5k) so keep that in mind.

Was good to chat to a fellow enthusiast! 2021 before the R is ready and it can’t come soon enough! Enjoy your winged summer
Re: Nomad R
Henry said that once the gearing is lengthened (if you select that option) then you’ll be at around 3.5k at 80 vs it currently being around 4.7knfcf wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 6:41 amThey are great fun on track and fast enough to surprise others. Re: Nomad R
Good evening all. I’m the missing link ... well the 5th future owner of this unique and fun car. I am new to Ariel ownership but experiencing CAG3D’s Atom sold me some time ago ... best thing on the planet if you want simple, raw driving thrills at a ‘reasonable’ price.
The Nomad r being described a tarmac rally car seemed about right to me... neither Atom or true Nomad but will hit a wonderful spot and the chauffeured experience Henry offered Tony and I was a good insight when we visited a few weeks back. I too will go for longer gearing as discussed above as the car will be on road in the main and Ohlins, whilst offering 6,498 setting options have to be the right choice. Plenty more to think on for spec’s though and great to read through the thoughts of you all.
Looking forward to the 5 car photo shoot in early summer 2021 ...

It’ll be 2021 before you know it.
Re: Nomad R
If you guys are at Ariel during the build process, grabbing some 'behind the scenes' pictures to outdo the standard Press Pics would be very welcome!
Just saying ;-)

Sounds like a plan.

Henry, supplied a about a dozen pics during the build for me. Really useful when you are not in the vicinity.
I just can’t believe I didn’t look at the “R” when I collected mine, saw the demo in the background and I do think the white and yellow look awesome.
A picture of the owners with the FIVE will be great. Be interesting to see what colours are chosen for the Tarmac Rally car.
