Light off-roading OK according to the article but what that means is open to interpretation. Guess you need some kind of underbody guard for the sequential pump.

We could feel the tub scraping the mud on some ruts and puddles - enough to clog the drain holes in the tub. [mention]Trigger[/mention] had to perform an emergency excavation at one point. With a stick. I though he was doing some fishing at first

Plus there is always quite a lot of gravel bouncing up from underneath. I'd definitely say that as much under underneath protection as possible is a must for what we did yesterday. Most of the lads wrapped the wishbones and lower frame in protective covering because of the gravel (a lesson learnt from last year).

I'd be concerned about the charge cooler location on the Rs. Scraping through mud (and tall grass!) does give your bottom a seeing to. And the Rs ride a bit lower don't they? But not by much I hear...

I'm not sure what the underneath of an R looks like from a protection stance, but here are some pictures of my undercarriage - just for you

I bought the latest EVO mag today to read the review you reference earlier in the thread - that's pretty high praise from the journalist there and is making me anxious to get my hands on the new toy!

Good article, I'm going to the Factory mid October to do the final spec on the R.

I spoke to Henry the other week and he offered the dash from the Atom4 as paid for upgrade, think I will go for it.

What are the others thinking....has anyone finished their spec yet?

I think I got the ball rolling on the Atom 4 dash as I enquired about 6 weeks back thinking it should be a simple flip. But baulked at the amount they were charging (£1600 plus VAT as I recall) - also check out the threads on the Atom side of the forum - plenty of people not actually happy with the 4 dash as it's not clear enough.

So I think I'm staying with the standard - it works! But I do appreciate the upgrade for colour TFT....

I'd not bother with the dash personally as the 4's is locked down. I would however ask about the atom 4 keyless start immobiliser instead. [mention]TBev[/mention] had it fitted to his Nomad and it'll make your life a lot easier not having to faff about with the fob under the dash.

Hi all future ‘R’ owners.
Initially wanted the 4 dash, but now not going to worry.
Keyless, nah not for me. Don’t need it imo. A simple wiggle under the dash and jobs a good one.
So what I really want to know, are you all going ‘white’ scaffold poles????!!

Hopefully we will get the dash locked sorted. £1600 is what they cost, aim kit is expensive. AIM is much better than race technology stuff and it is waterproof.

What power do you get with the R?
