I thought I'd seen a muddy nomad or two at the MSG... but compared to this... I think you got off lightly:

Even more specifically... watch the passenger footwell in this bit:

What do you think the cleaning time would be?

Why would you clean it?

Needs mudflaps though...

Because you can't see the speedo any more?

Agreed, look like they'd make things a lot better.

Why would you want to see the speedo?

;D

Anyway, back on topic... I find that a pressure washer doesn't really get the car clean. Yes, it does shift the big lumps of mud, but it's still a bucket and sponge job at the end of the day to get it properly clean.

I tend a do a 'proper clean' every 2 or 3 excursions, but keep all the moving parts clean and lubed in between. If I spent 4 hours cleaning it every time I got it muddy, I'd end up spending more time cleaning it than driving it. Anyway, I've convinced myself that they look better dirty - I'm quite lazy deep down.

That 'mud' from MSG though was lethal. Proper clay that dried far too quickly in the heat. I made sure I gave the radiator a good hosing before leaving the 4x4 circuit. I'd be worried if that clay stuff welded itself to the radiator fins. You'd never get it out!
