Atom 4 seats...
Atom 4 seats...
Ok so I haven't ever been that comfortable in the Nomad seats - I did have a very brief sit in the Atom 4 and really liked the seats. Now they are standard fit on the Nomads and I thought I might change - I just wondered if anybody had compared them ? I struggle with lumbar supprt mainly and I try and use a cushion (Thanks Karl) but would rather not have to. I never had an issue with the old Atom bench except it being quite hard after a few hrs.
Any views appreciated.

Re: Atom 4 seats...
I really struggle with the seats in the Nomad. I'm just too, er, skinny! Hope they're not the ones being used in the 4. I'll check that.

Re: Atom 4 seats...
Tillett race seats are also fine - particularly the B6 ones
Lots of support for skinny and tall people. You get zero buttock movement ;-)

Yeah, I know, I've had them. But they are "pretty" expensive & scratch v easily.
We'll see.

Re: Atom 4 seats...
Yeah which is why I may change !
Re: Atom 4 seats...
I have the Atom 4 seats in my (not so new and shiny - thanks Karl!) Nomad. If you are coming to the May 19 breakfast meet or the MSG then you are welcome to swap one into your Nomad to give it a try. I have a dodgy lower back and they haven't caused any problems yet, although there's no real lumbar support - but overall happy with them.

Re: Atom 4 seats...
I hopped into Spoony's seats earlier (cheers Spoony!) and I like them a lot!
Seemed to hug the hips better and overall I think they look better, being a similar finish and angular shape to the bodywork panels.
Have you looked into costs yet Trigger?

Re: Atom 4 seats...
I went for a cheeky seat swap while the car was in Crewkerne.
I am liking the newer standard seats that are in the 4 and on newer Nomads.
My man maths reckons they are a good 2" narrower around the hips and after a 4 hour drive home without padding, I'm daisy fresh and ready to do another 4 hours.
No gaps in the lower back area and really quite grippy in terms of the finish, so no sliding round roundabouts (me, not the car).
Lastly, both seats are 5 way adjustable front and rear. The passenger seat wasn't on the others and with the passenger foot rest, legroom was a little tight.
All in all, thoroughly recommend!

Re: Atom 4 seats...
I’ve been quoted about £600 per seat I think....will do it when I get round to it.
Re: Atom 4 seats...
They are a thing of beauty. I'd be worried about getting out, as I step on the seat to do so.
