Ratchet seat option

Post by 77_TYX » Thu Mar 07, 2019 11:15 am

Apologies, I know I'm peppering the forum with questions this morning.

The seats I have in my Nomad are bolted in. Does the ratchet seat option mean the driver's seat can be moved fore/aft? If it does, does it raise the seat too much?

On the very rare occasions that the missus would drive it, it would be better to move the seat than have her try and drive with two pillows behind her back. :)

It raises the seat around 2" on a Carbon Seat and around 1" on a GRP seat (the seats are two different models... its not the the material that makes a difference)

I had the same problem and bonded aluminium plates onto the inside of the seat inserts where the bolts go. I then cut sliders out of the seat and Aluminium fillets so the the seats could be slackened off on the 4 bolts then slide forwards. I also angled the sliders so the as the seat moved forwards it also moved upwards. On top of this I had seat inserts made so that my other half was put in the correct driving position for her. A driver swap now takes a few minutes.
Let me know if you want pics or contacts for the seat inserts.

Stephen.
