London Dawn Raid - 9 June 2019

There was some demand for this last year but it didn't happen because of other events or peoples availability. KarlV and myself will be looking to organise one for this year. Suggest June again, either 9th or 16th? I have all Bruces routes from past Raids so we will put something together from those, or any recommendations which come along in the meantime.

How many people are interested in this run? It would be good to know approximate numbers which will help with planning stopping points and parking

An update

Things have been going on behind the scenes on this one. KarlV and I have been doing some research, with input from Bruce Fielding who organised many in the past, and Nick Mason who organised the last Raid in 2017. No need to reinvent the wheel, so we are pulling out the best bits of the past runs and adding in some new bits. KarlV is doing all the hard work building the 2019 route which will be loaded up in the usual Ariel Club MyRoute App site for download to your Satnavs, or simply to have a look. Some draft routes are there now, as well as past routes.

The route will cover all the main sites as well as some tunnels and faster roads, with a suitable end point for tea, coffee or brunch. If there are any Londoners who wish to feed in any recommendations then please do.

The date is still Sunday 9 June. Of course weather dependent. We are planning to meet early again, probably in Hyde Park as the main rendezvous point. Other meeting points for those coming from different directions. These can be advised later.
