Do you remember last years MSG? A highlight of the year. Well, we are doing it again.

Alex Brandon-Smith is putting the finishing touches to the plans, which will be posted here shortly

Sounds good !!

However, please can it be a circuit- not airfield?
Abingdon was so abrasive, stony and underprepared.
Nobody’s fault, but I know a number of you agreed.

It’s in the calendar 👍

Oh no! This clashes with the kid's weekend football / Kung Fu / piano / origami lessons!

Meh. I'll be there...

Top work on the early heads up. Digger would have been proud ;-)

I'm definitely working on that Kai - Abingdon is my last choice really this year but I'm working with various people to see what I can bring together. It may mean a little more travel but will be worth it to do a proper circuit. I'll report back in due course...
310=325! That'll be the Presidential Remap kicking in... :vroom:

Alex

You'll remember from a long time ago the early season 'hooning and honing', a similar thing but early in the year to blow away the cobwebs. Anybody with the nouse, the contacts and the time to organise that would be a star.

This sounds good all the same. Thanks.

I am going to attempt to arrange another Nomad day...

this time it could be more serious / higher speed.

this does depend on peoples willingness to drive / trailer their cars to somewhere... as the decent places are probably nowhere near the central location of where the hotel will be.

so how far are people willing to drive? (im thinking lydden hill rally cross / Anglesey rally cross / castle combe rally cross)

EDIT

its not going to be overly cheap, BUT if we can get 10-15 Nomads together it will work out at the same price as a good track day. and, it will be Nomad only.

@HenryJS i'd be interested in a Nomad event. Lydden Hill and Castle Combe are both doable in a day for me - Anglesey might be a hotel/overnight job however.

I'd be up for this.

I guess once we know where 'camp' will be for the 2 nights, we'll know what the options are.

I could do 1, maybe 1.5, hours each way.

I'd be up for it - but feel Castle Combe really would be the only workable choice. Lydden Hill is about 3 hrs from Bicester and Anglesey is a whole weekend trip !

well Ive spoken to Combe, and they dont hire out their Rally Stage, Lydden cant do it because of another event...

and Anglesey is miles from everywhere.

Unless we go somewhere like Walters Arena - which is a bit like Salisbury Plain - but much harder going. (and there is a cost involved) Under body Protection is a must. Winch not required - but would be handy.

mmmmm well however nice it would be to arrange an event the same weekend perhaps it is just a step too far .....

I am keen to do more next year so lets perhaps arrange a Salisbury plain day at another time ?

Was there really no BOATs we could drive in the area ? I know you said they were gated / locked etc

It think it may be.

Its going to be a long old drive to where ever its going to be...

No all the byways were all padlocked off by the Farmer - not knowing the area i wouldn't be keen to snip em. I'd do it 'on my own patch' down here as i know whats legal and whats not.

I reckon we will end up on Salisbury Plain again - just a different area this time!

Sadly I will not be attending, as I will be in Argentina at the time. Doing a spot of light camping for the eclipse...
I will be around for doing a recce - and gladly show some routes round the plain that are good fun.

or theres here

great fun!

@HenryJS - Argentina sounds fun - enjoy. Don't go sporting any dodgy number plates!

@Trigger I know we spoke about a trip to the Plains at some point. Maybe we could take Henry up on his offer of a bit of a guided tour? Just in case this becomes a 'thing' during MSG.

In fact, we could maybe try and arrange a Nomad Plains Day around April / May time regardless?

I refuse to wade through a foot of horse piss this time though ;-)
