That link about the track day isn’t particularly helpful btw - it doesn’t seem to give the booking on time, for example? And do we need to bring any paperwork? (I’m sure I’ve had to present driving license or MOT at some random trackday in the past)

On Saturday I finish work at around 10am so should be at the hotel by 12, are there any hints about the route of the road run to help me hunt you all down? ;)

Also Saturday's route will be emailed and posted here shortly. I'm just finalising it but basically we'll be heading to the Broadway Tower through the Cotswolds.

We shall leave about 10 so should arrive at the Tower about 11.45/12. Meet us there if you can Bod?

Route time....

As Alex has mentioned we'll be leaving the hotel around 10am for a bimble round the Cotswold's. Alex liking to put on a bit of a show has us going through a fair few of the towns, but equally no big cities (eg. Cirencester to the south nor Cheltenham to the West). We've tried to include some good driving roads, including Fish Hill.

I've attached a zip file containing the route in a variety of formats. If you want to see what this looks like, without a satnav, in a browser go to www.bikehike.co.uk. Click Course Creator, the Load Route. You'll need to have expanded the Zip file, and I'd suggest the arielcotswold4-route.gpx file. Feel free to then zoom around, and also look at the elevation data.

How you get this to your satnav will vary, so I'm not going to talk you through that, but if you've got all the file types I can muster there, so give it a go.

I've also included Alex's detailed pace notes... sorry directions. Should you have a co-driver, or get lost, they may come in handy.

Roll on Saturday with some great forecast weather, and a collection of loud and colourful Atoms :)

It was a tough call between too long and too short. It's about 1.5 hours each way so leave at 10, get there by 12, stop for grub and a rest for a bit then head back by about 3.30pm. You are welcome to cut off and meet us there John. Just wanted to make sure people had a decent run out.

Looking forward to it everyone!

If you're not using a printed map, or Alex's directions, but have a TomTom for example, the attached two files may help.

I'm split the route in two ... one to the Broadway tower meetup, the other the way back. This reduces the route a smaller number of points and is therefore making my TomTom "Tyre" software happier.

If you have the direction/pace notes you'll definately be right, as it's possible with the TomTom "point" system to end up on a different road (if it things it's a better way to get between the two points). But should help people regardless.

These may also work with other SatNav brands (but I don't have any, so I've not tried), but certainly they look a little odd in bikehike. File is Zipped again.
