I love the single seat thing. I find taking passengers a little boring, if I'm honest. And a right PITA on track, if you get a bit of a lump sitting next to you.

I tend to go out mostly when there's nobody around. So, crack of dawn, late Summer nights. The times when I wish for someone along with me are few, tbh, whether riding or driving. And, weirdly, I'm in a relationship yet don't wish to get away from my partner. Who knew?

Cheers,
Hedge

Roy,

I suspect I'm not alone in enjoying it enormously!

I dont care about the time for now as it was 3 or 4 degrees outside and a damp/ half dried underground. It will do much faster times in spring, just wanted to test the button...if you buy buttons, you have to test them.

Happy to compare laptimes, any track, if you want to compare really badly😁

Love the buttons!!! And the gearbox!

What would you expect a perfect launch is capable of?

I think the factory spec is about right at 2.7.
In most Mono’s it is more 2.8’ish, but mine has the shorter gear ratio and with the Hewland there is virtually no shifting time.
In this pull it felt there was lots to gain as I had wheelspin all the way to 60mph. For a good launch I’ll need a dry and warm surface.

But I think the actual numbers dont really matter too much, it is plenty fast like the Atom. I think it is comparable with the 3.5R in most pulls, but everything above 100 mph is much faster, this thing goes like a loon all the way through all the gears. Much more stable and more comfy, no wind, gets used fast

Ok here I have one really nerdy, but it are the tiniest details that make the package so attractive to me:

For those interested in the Mono, here a lap on Zandvoort. I left a lot on the table as it was my first trackday with the Mono and the first time on Zandvoort in years

Compared to the Atom it was 7 seconds faster compared to my fastest ever Atom lap. It is a totally different animal, much more dedicated.

Things that I like:
-front axle grip is without limits, if you steer in too soon and too hard, it brakes your neck instead of understear followed by oversteer.
-brakes are even better, braking point was further and still stopped to early every corner.
-being windscreenless and have no wind on neck or body, and very little helmet lift

Things I missed from Atom times:
-this point actually was mentioned at the good things as well...I liked the sliding of the Atom on fairly low speeds, the lack of grip also was pretty fun 😁
-there was one friend who I would loved to give a hot lap, but its a Mono...

Thing I didnt miss:
-having the possibility to give all other guys in the paddock a ride...

Wow, how stable is that! Very Impressive

Atom would have been arms and elbows trying to keep up with that.

The new areas of tarmac and banking really have changed the feel of the track by the look of it, such a great circuit!

Very nice car.

Cheers,
Stu

B'jaysus. A serious lack of drama going on in that cockpit! Mightily impressive stuff.

About the only thing that isn't stable are the wing mirrors..

I stopped comparing (but also not really) because this car was 9(!!) seconds faster in the first ever trackday compared to the best lap I ever did with both my atoms...
It is also such a different experience, the Atom is just stupid fun and is stupid fast along the way.
This thing is fast and...fast, the fun comes out of the experience with seating position etc, for the rest it is dead serious😂.

There is almost no comparison, now I own one, I dont see any similarities what so ever. When i didnt own one I only saw similarities and some little differences.

I do miss the Atom, wished it wasnt thát expensive/impossible to make a sequential R out of my 3.5...I loved that car so much.
