Interesting view from Harry's garage where they went hybrid.

This kinda solves my towing problem and means my 40 mile round trip to work is all EV, with the added bonus that the car is fully warmed up in the winter. Sounds ok too with the 3l straight six.

Also agree with the conclusion that pure EV electric is inconvenient for long trips because of the maturity of the charging infrastructure - except for Tesla

I thought exactly the same re the X5, ideal multi purpose vehicle.
GR Yaris CP for when it rains, Atom 4 for when it doesn’t.

Hybrid is the ideal, and the beauty of it is that there is an infinite bucket of technologies to draw upon. For performance cars the electric bit should double up as reverse motor, alternator, adaptive aero power source, and potentially suspension height power source. This can reduce the weight in a sports car while providing instant high voltage power where hydraulic is too complex and cumbersome. The closest to this is Gordan Murray's T50 which I believe is using hybrid tech for all of these except suspension height. The Ford GT is using a hydraulic height mechanism but I think electric would work better.

Some 8 months late to the party, but meh...

My Nomad hole has (temporarily) been filled with a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle).

It won't ever replace the Nomad memories. And one day - maybe we'll have a TBev - aka Turbo Nomad. Not sure where I was going there BTW, it seemed poignant at the time of writing, but clearly makes no sense right now. Apologies Simon.

Anyway... Nomad hole. Electric cars. Honda power. School run. The future. Maybe...

Going to bed now.

Karl,

You really did get the yellow one! So, do you like it as much as we like ours?

Not sure yet AlanP, I haven't driven it yet and can't until Friday when the insurance kicks in. But when I do, I'm sure I'll be doing tens of miles at a fairly low speed :) I did enjoy it on the test drive though. Plus I get to make my own V8 noises as I'm pootling along.

Antong - no hugs necessary my friend. But if you stumble upon a turbo'd Nomad, please let me know :tu:
