Not going out

Post by Karl V » Fri Mar 27, 2020 10:46 pm

Anyone else here bored?

Spring is in the air. The weather is great. We must all stay at home...

I can't be the only one needing a pick-me-up???

My Atom has been SORNd since October and I am desperate to take it out.

I look after my elderly mother and have to see her every day, so I have been toying with the idea if taxing the Atom and taking that to see her. It's only a 10 mile round trip, but I suspect I will be pulled over as soon as the boys in blue see me...

Why would you be 'pulled' in your Atom any more than in any other car?

Just say why you are driving and say that you consider it safer to use an open car - utilising fresh air - rather than being cooped up in airconditioned closed in car!

I’ve been out in mine a few times. Seen a few police cars on route, and not been pulled yet.

Fantastic Simon. Very very different to my 3.5.

Managed a pre-lockdown drive, my first four hours in the car since purchase !

Not much chance of getting another run in though, (not in the UK) which is a real downer.... hope the restrictions here will be lifted in another 30 days...

My car is quarantined in Crewkerne, so all temptation removed for me... Which is probably a good thing.

It is all very depressing. I was planning to pick my 4 up next week originally but given the factory is closed and there is a lock down it will be the week after. I just hope the lock down doesn't drag on and we get this under control ASAP and within the 3 weeks originally planned. The US are having a hard time with this virus and it's quite shocking how fast it has spread there.

In the meantime, I can continue to work on the tech for the car.

Luckily we are allowed to drive! Gasoline is also dirt cheap, so I’m driving all vehicles all day long

In other news, and despite taking the V8 Atom, I wasn't quite quick enough to nab the last loo roll at Uncle Dave's Discount Emporium on the A59.

Must. Get. Out. Soon.

Went to work in mine yesterday, we have been working throughout.
Decided to carry out a brake fluid change.
Will do a separate thread in a bit.
Driving the car was fantastic though , even if it was only a few miles.
Just realised it is Sorned , oops !😬
