A holiday near the factory

Post by Spikey_head » Sun Feb 12, 2017 1:57 pm

The Atom is booked i for an assortment of work for a few days soon.

Any recommendations on things to see, places to go, restaurants and hotels to stay in?

I'll be with the girlfriend so something suitable for us both.

Haselbury Mill is a good location (right beside the factory) and is a nice spot with good food:

As for things to do, it's all pretty gentle tbh, heading down to the coast, Lyme Regis etc is possibly your best bet at this time of the year.

Cheers,

+1 for the Haselbury Mill. It's decent and I've stayed there with Ginette.

Plenty to do around. The Dorset coast isn't far away. Lulworth Cover in particular is worth the journey and a walk and lunch. Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge aren't far away either. Plenty of museums knocking around and Bath is a stunning place for a bit of shopping and to have a wander around.

You wouldn't catch Andrew going there in his Nomad. Far too dirty...

I've got the optional 'dogging' lights on the Nomad - looking forward to lighting them up

Fairways B&B is a good place to stay if anyone prefers not to stay in a hotel.  Check them out on TripAdvisor.

Haha, excellent timing.  Only ever been in July for the factory service trip. I guess they have to close to update stuff sometime.
