Fat Club 2017

Post by reg » Mon Dec 26, 2016 7:12 pm

After discussions with various folk on here I am opening this up to you lot. Each year, after a very merry xmas I find myself larger than life. Jan - March I quit alcohol and shitty food entirely. It started as a bet with a mate 5 years ago, but has just carried on. The weight loss and general sobriety brings many benefits, I am not evangelical about it but I'd miss it now if I didn't get back on the ol' wagon.

Those wanting to join let me know., As friendly spreadsheet and less friendly banter as the weeks progress awaits. The normal prize is a monumental curry somewhere. 1, 2 or 3 months (all joking aside) is well worth the journey.

I'm looking forward to dropping 15kgs again :D

I'm up for this too Reg. Great idea.

As a thought, have you explored myfitnesspal? It's a superb app and we could create a community to keep in touch with it? Records exercise, food everything. A superb resource. AC Power2weight Club?

Can do mate, whatever works :D

What i've done before is a weigh in each week starting from 'x' date. Then just update spreadsheet each week. The 'winner' has always been the percentage of mass lost...but it's all good fun and is an interesting experiment. I'll be going for 3 months, at which point I can promise you a hangover which will never be forgotten, 'food' bills drastically cut and the first beer you drink, well, it'll be spectacular  O0

I'm cruising above heavyweight at the moment but 73kgs is coming my way soon.

This sounds like a good idea.  Far more likely to follow through on New Years resolutions if you know your progress is being recorded and compared!

Every year I say I want to reach my ideal BMI. But my weight stubbornly stays about 6 to 8 kilos above that apart from occasional dips....usually in January.

Does anybody know who this joker is? Shall I ban him? I bet he's skinny.... lol

Thanks John. I think!

In all fairness, my atom would go A LOT quicker from me getting the weight down this year so I'm happy with a spreadsheet or whatever Reg. I'll be using myfitnesspal anyway. Others welcome to join...

I'm kinda up for this, insofar as Jan and maybe Feb, but I'm skiing in March and I'm way better pissed!

Ok guys, weigh in 8th January :D feel free to record metrics and post or keep them to amuse yourselves as the weight, and circumferences reduce...hooray. Enter your target, 4/8/12 weeks, everyone welcome. I'll put Google sheet together for us all in the meantime.

Time to commit. The list of 2017's superstars....

I think I should get on this. I've put on nearly a stone in the last 6 months and feel rubbish for it. Complete lack of training, eating the wrong stuff and too much beer.
