The Grand Tour

Re: The Grand Tour

Atom 3.5R, Black+Red flashes, CF front & rear wings, CF bonnet & mud guards. Bristol
Re: The Grand Tour
What Nick said, more of what TG used to be, but with a bit more spent on it.
Re: The Grand Tour
Same old format I thought

Re: The Grand Tour
must say I have enjoyed it so far, more 1, 2 and 3 than the latest episode.
Re: The Grand Tour
The latest "green" race was a bit "ermmmm wtf", I think the shame was it was then drawn out... which made for a good chunk of the show which seemed just odd. Not too amusing, but then that's a personal thing.
One of the criticisms levelled, is that a lot of the humour is forced rather than genuine. And the green race seemed exactly that, pre-scripted joke after pre-scripted joke. Problem was you could tell. They'll have a canned laughter track next.

Re: The Grand Tour
I think the novelty of the big budget show is good, but now getting a bit more used to it, maybe it will wear off?
I find like Top Gear, its a mix of brilliant entertainment and dull tired format, but always worth watching. On balance I think GT is better. Likewise I thought the last episode wasn't that good.
GT is missing some good elements from TG. Dying celbrity is getting a bit dull now. I thought the TG actually interviewing of the star in the reasonably priced car added interest, which is what i think they should try and include in the new show without contravening copyright somehow.
Haven't made up my mind if i prefer the Stig or the American

Ep2 sliding down the chopper rope
"Help!"
Trousers halfway down with all the weight of the grenades on them.
The best episode so far.
Great the last 2 were in Whitby.
Would be nice to actually go to a show recording.
Enjoying it so far - not keen on the American though - should have got Ben Collins back.

Re: The Grand Tour
I thought the 'SAS' sketch was one of the funniest things they've done for a very long time...but there is also a lot of repetitive material that could be skipped.
First Atomised 2001.
Atom (165) > Atom 2 (220) > Atom 3 (300) > Atom 3.5 (310) > Atom 4 (350).
There is no cure.

Re: The Grand Tour
I'm certainly not disappointed by it. I mean it is exactly what I expected it would be. I thought 1 was very good, 2 not so good from a car lovers prospective but entertaining, 3 slightly better than 2 and 4 I am yet to watch.
The only feature I do not like is the celebrity accident. It was only slightly entertaining the first time... but every episode!

Re: The Grand Tour
They, like TG, had the opportunity to take the car show forward and they just churned out the same old thing.
And they've followed the time honoured formula of putting out the best one fist, apparently. What's the betting the last one in this season (as it's American money we can't call it a series, apparently) is also pretty good...
