Challenger

Did any of our UK readers watch this last night?

I know I have some fellow space geeks on here.  If you didn't watch it you should, expect it will be on iPlayer for a bit.

I did Ben, I knew nothing of Richard Feynman before last night and found it a must see.  :tu:

I thought William Hurt did a great job on screen too :tu:

Well worth reading the books about his life 'Surely you're joking my Feynman' and 'What do you care what other people thing'.  The former being a biography covering his work at Los Almos in the war and the latter covering the Challenger stuff.

The books are great as he was a larger than life character as portrayed in the programme, rather than that being a dramatic construct for TV

Yep. Nice one Ben. Would have completely missed it without the heads up. I love this sort of thing, and especially anything to do with the early space race, cosmology, quantum theory, etc.

Great film, with some of my favourite actors (Brian Dennehy, etc). I appreciate there was some makeup involved, and it was filmed in unforgiving HD, etc, but I was shocked how old some of the actors are looking (Bruce Greenwood, Joanne Whalley, etc).

Cheers,
Rob
